Faculty and instructors who need an introduction to or refresher in the Canvas learning management system are invited to register for UK Online’s start of term workshops, offered for the first time this fall with the new UK Online Strong Start Badge.
The badge may be earned by any faculty or staff who register and complete all three start of term workshops, or those who register and complete two of the workshops and then engage in a personalized session with an instructional designer and/or instructional technologist in support of their course development needs. The final requirement in the noncredit badge program is submission of a personal course development plan.
Start of term workshops will be offered Aug. 19-21 and repeated in January. Please register for each individual workshop.
Canvas 101
Aug. 19, 10am – Curious about Canvas? This introductory session provides users with the background knowledge needed to begin their Canvas journey. Register here.
Ready, Set, Launch
Aug. 20, 10 am – In this workshop, we will discuss how you can ensure that your course is ready for takeoff through a variety of quality assurance measures and checklists developed by the UK Online Instructional Design Team. Register here.
Technology Best Practices
Aug. 21, 10 am – Learn how to enhance your online teaching with multimedia strategies and discover how UK’s Faculty Media Depot supports engaging, high-quality content creation. Register here.
