If you are new to the Canvas Gradebook or need a refresher on the Grades option in the learning management system, The Canvas Instructor Guide has a number of resources available for you.
The Gradebook provides a point of access for both instructor and student: the instructor uses it to enter grades for assignments, and the student uses it to see their grades and average throughout the semester. Instructors see all grades; students see only their own grades, by assignment.
How Do I Use the Gradebook?
The Instructor Guide’s article How do I use the Gradebook? is accompanied by screen shots and a seven-minute instructional video. In the left column of the Instructor Guide, scroll down to the menu item Grades to select related information, such as How do I create assignment columns for non-submission assignments in the Gradebook?, How do I arrange columns in the Gradebook?, and more.
