Ally is a tool that UK offers in the Canvas learning management system to improve accessibility of digital course materials. The vendor sponsors the Ally User Group that meets every two months to offer feature presentations, panels, and workshops from institutions and experts who use Ally. September’s event features the University of Leeds and how it is addressing accessibility of STEM learning materials through practical strategies. Lucy Thacker will share insights from the Engineering and Physical Sciences faculty at Leeds, including approaches to complex imagery, maths notation, and inclusive digital content design. The presentation will also highlight collaborative efforts across faculties and showcase how accessibility standards are being adapted to suit diverse disciplinary contexts
