UK Online is launching the second cohort of its Course Quality (CQ) Design Program, a funded initiative that supports University of Kentucky instructors who teach fully online courses. The program provides faculty with structured time, instructional design support, and a $2,000 incentive for completing program milestones.

The program is designed for full-time instructors who teach courses with a distance learning (DL) designation and want to enhance student engagement, strengthen course organization, and align course design with nationally recognized Quality Matters (QM) standards. Participants will work closely with UK Online instructional designers to revise an existing course and implement evidence-based design practices that improve learning outcomes.

The core program activities run from May to August to best facilitate instructors’ availability and includes workshops, virtual sessions, and one‑on‑one instructional design (ID) consultations to help overhaul or refresh a course.. By the end of the program, participants will have a fully redesigned course prepared for teaching and quality review. Faculty will also gain practical strategies for using media, creating learner-centered activities, and assessments to improve engagement and help students succeed in the online environment.
