UK Online celebrated three longtime team members during the unit’s Winter Meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 19, honoring their dedication and ongoing contributions to supporting online teaching and learning at the University of Kentucky.
Frank Johnson — 20 Years of Service
Frank Johnson, Educational Technologist and Zoom Administrator, was recognized for two decades of service to the University of Kentucky. Frank began his UK career in 2005 at the ITS Service Desk as a ticketing system administrator. He joined our learning management system faculty support team in 2010 and has remained a steady and knowledgeable presence in online teaching support ever since.
Sarah Asher — 15 Years of Service
Instructional Designer Sarah Asher was recognized for 15 years of service. Sarah joined the LMS support team in 2010 as it first expanded to meet growing campus needs, becoming the second staff member hired specifically for LMS faculty support duties. Sarah later transitioned to the instructional design team, where she continues to collaborate with faculty on effective online course development and technology tool use.
Chris McGuire — 10 Years of Service
Chris McGuire, Distance Learning Coordinator, was recognized for a decade of service to UK. Chris first worked with the LMS support team as an intern in 2014. His experience led him to a full-time role on the ITS Service Desk in 2015. In May 2018, he joined UK Online in his current position, supporting distance learning operations and faculty engagement.
“All of our employees bring exceptional dedication to meeting the highest standards of service for the university and the faculty community we support,” said UKO Senior Director Patsy Carruthers. “We’re grateful for the opportunity to celebrate Frank, Sarah, and Chris’s years of service and the vital contributions they make to our unit and to the larger university community.”
